”Some people FEEL the rain, others just get wet.” -Roger Miller
DIVO-tional...
A matter of perspective, as with most things, influences the experience of rain. Some people love it, some people hate it, some are motivated, others lazy. All are valid reactions, however, what is the cause or reason for your reaction? What about it makes a most pleasurable sensory experience, or an annoying fact of weather? Why do some go dancing in the rain, and others cry over the the effect on their hair?! It’s not, and never will be about the appropriate reaction, but rather about YOUR reaction and WHY. Is it a choice, a preference or some consequence of conditioning? There’s so many esoteric interpretations of weather, storms, and rain, but they only gain power through your belief in them, anyway. It is within your capability to decide what it is, how fun it can be, and what you do with it. You don’t have to force yourself to stay inside, or your kids for that matter, if you want to go play in the mud or the rain itself. Clothes can be washed, bodies can be warmed back up, showers can be taken, but moments passed(past) cannot be revisited. Memories cannot be made after that present opportunity has moved on in the reel of life. Be the “crazy” neighbor or friend, be the Ms. Frizzle of the group. Because, why NOT as long as you are happy and having fun?! If you don’t like the rain, fine, don’t play in it, but don’t hide behind some old wives tail that you’ll catch a cold. Decide for yourself what is right for you; because that is the power you ALWAYS had.
On this day, I will observe my reactions to rain(y days) and be as transparent as I can about WHY I react that way. On this day, I will allow myself to acknowledge who I am with a neutral eye, so that I may move into the drivers seat of my life more fully, if I have not been up to this point. If I have been, I will revel in the FEELing of the rain rather than just getting WET. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Definitely a feel the rain person for sure!
