So many quotes that come to mind as I read this, although Leonardo predates many of those authors. When a person chooses a life of reflection, one that observes how things work at various levels of existence, things start to become apparent. Life recapitulates itself, built upon a foundation of simplicity repeated over and over again. In this simplified structure, greater complexity begins to evolve as it is layered over and over, woven together in a tapestry with infinite numbers of combinations and patterns. Through practice, one can actually see the pattern and how it all connects together. It takes a quieting of the mind and a focusing of attention, but it eventually becomes clear and second nature to tap into that energy where one knows that thoughts become things and things become thoughts. A term often used to describe this is synchronicity. A moment when your thoughts and your outside world are noticeably one. A knowledge that all things are connected at the deepest levels, because we are ALL made of the same stuff. Learn to see that connection rather than constantly focusing upon what appears to be different. Was da Vinci that different from his creation, the Mona Lisa? Perhaps that’s what that smile was all about, a knowing that the painting could just as easily been him, and in one place of existence, it probably was. Perhaps an easier thing to notice is the way a conceptualization of an atom resembles a solar system. Now, how did THAT happen?!
On this day, I will sit quietly in meditation and draw to mind something VERY specific, like 111 or a purple snake, and ask that I run into this week. I will then release it with gratitude and expectation. Not forcing it or worrying about finding it, allow the ease of synchronicity to happen. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
