DIVO-tional…

“Raise your words, not your voice. It is rain that grows flowers, not thunder.” -Rumi

Daily DIVO-tional...

In many spiritual paths, water represents emotion. Flowing and rolling in response to various thoughts and perceptions. Some times it’s still as glass, and others a tsunami bursting forward with such force, it levels all in its path. Leaving nothing the same as it was before. Another metaphor, a storm, a catalytic combination of elements, so polar in expression that when they slam into eachother the synergy releases vast amounts of energy, ultimately resulting in more balance. However that release can come in many forms; all of which creates change. The often more subtle aspects of the storm, rain, nourishes the land; although excess, as aforementioned, can cause troubles. One of the more exciting, sometimes frightening, aspects of the storm are the lightening shows and the subsequent sound of thunder. Thunder is loud, abrasive and aggressive, like a bull in a china shop. It can be heard miles away, but the message and direction aren’t always clear. However, raising your words to higher levels of expression, lifting your heart to new perspectives, you can receive the benefits of the rain, the emotions, without necessarily experiencing the storm. It’s not about shouting to be heard, it’s about knowing who you are and communicating the emotions from there.

On this day, I recognize that I AM the storm(s) in my life, and that all aspects serve purpose and seek balance. On this day, I recognize I can choose to take what I like and leave the rest, rather than react to the roil and broil within and without. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
